Foresight News , citing Vietnam's Tuoi Tre newspaper, the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security recently held a press conference to report on the investigation into the ONUS cryptocurrency case. A representative from the Investigation and Security Department (A09) of the Ministry of Public Security stated that in the investigation of the ONUS cryptocurrency exchange's alleged embezzlement, police have seized over 350 kilograms of gold and silver, frozen transactions involving eight properties worth 200 billion Vietnamese dong, and suspended over 300 bank accounts used by the defendants to trade with investors. On March 23rd of this year, police filed criminal charges against eight defendants, accusing them of using computer and telecommunications networks to commit embezzlement and money laundering. Between 2018 and 2021, they sold over 7 trillion Vietnamese dong worth of cryptocurrency. A representative from A09 stated that the case involves numerous individuals and users, with approximately 5 million user accounts currently in operation. Police have received over 2,000 reports from citizens, and the recovery of assets is ongoing. They are also investigating whether social media influencers colluded with the defendants in promoting the cryptocurrency.
Borreton releases general-purpose intelligent driving model for autonomous driving, targeting mining operation scenarios.
Mars Finance reported on June 29th that Borreton has launched a general-purpose intelligent driving model for autonomous driving in mining scenarios. It is understood that this model can perceive the mining environment through multimodal sensors, identify changes in roads, vehicles, obstacles, loading areas, and spoil heaps using a 4D spatiotemporal fusion model, and make human-like driving decisions through a planning and control PNP model. The model can also be iterated by combining real operational data and virtual training. Borreton stated that this model will be used in conjunction with its unmanned electric mining trucks, photovoltaic-storage microgrids, and mining operation data to form an AI system for mining production scenarios. In this system, the intelligent driving model is mainly used for task identification, path planning, and scheduling; the unmanned electric mining trucks are responsible for transportation operations; the photovoltaic-storage microgrid is used for vehicle refueling; and the mining operation data is used for model training and system operation. SBI's crypto subsidiary will shut down its Bitcoin mining pool service.
According to Mars Finance, Decrypt reports that SBI Crypto, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings, announced it will officially shut down its Bitcoin mining pool service on July 31. Prior to this, the pool will continue normal operations, and customers can continue mining and earning rewards. SBI Crypto's cryptocurrency mining service has been operating since 2017 and currently ranks 11th globally in hashrate rankings on the Hashrate Index. To assist customers with a smooth transition, the platform is in negotiations with other mining pool operators such as Braiins and Luxor. Analysts point out that this move reflects the trend of large mining companies gradually adjusting their business focus in the face of Bitcoin price volatility and changes in the industry environment. Despite divesting its mining pool business, its parent company, SBI, is still increasing its investment in the cryptocurrency market, having just announced the acquisition of Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Bitbank for $289 million earlier this week.
