South Korea is advancing the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence models and expanding its infrastructure.
South Korea's Vice Minister of Science and ICT stated on the 3rd that the South Korean government is strategically re-evaluating the construction of its autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. The government will promote large-scale projects centered on AI infrastructure, physical AI, and autonomous model capabilities. The Vice Minister also pointed out that South Korea has increased its AI budget to 9.9 trillion won this year, three times that of last year, in order to rank among the world's top three AI powers. The South Korean government is planning to expand the construction of AI data centers, expecting to complete 8.4 gigawatts of data center capacity by 2029 and add another 10 gigawatts by 2035.
