Apple invests over $30 billion to deepen its partnership with Broadcom and expand its domestic chip manufacturing operations in the United States.
According to ChainCatcher, citing CNBC, Apple announced on Wednesday a multi-year partnership with chipmaker Broadcom, expected to exceed $30 billion. This is Apple's largest commitment to U.S.-made manufacturing to date. Under the agreement, Broadcom will continue to develop and supply customized ASIC chips (increasingly used in AI workloads) and wireless components for cellular networks, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity for multiple generations of Apple products until 2031. The report indicates that the partnership is expected to facilitate the production of more than 15 billion U.S.-made chips and includes a $1.5 billion expansion of Broadcom's Fort Collins, Colorado factory. Outgoing Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that this move is the largest single project in Apple's $600 billion U.S. investment plan announced in 2025, aimed at responding to the Trump administration's call to promote domestic manufacturing and helping to establish an end-to-end silicon supply chain in the United States.

Sources indicate that Saudi Arabia plans to expand its oil pipeline along the Red Sea, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz and increasing its daily transport capacity by 2 million barrels.
According to five sources familiar with the Odaily, Saudi Arabia is considering expanding the capacity of its crude oil pipeline to the west coast of the Red Sea, enabling Saudi Arabia and its neighbors to transport more oil without passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Built in the early 1980s, this east-west pipeline has become increasingly strategically important since the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq War in February and the disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The pipeline can transport up to 7 million barrels of crude oil per day to the Red Sea port of Yanbu. In May, the CEO of Saudi Aramco stated that approximately 2 million barrels would supply refineries on the west coast, and about 5 million barrels would be exported. Sources say that Saudi Arabia is in preliminary discussions with some neighboring countries regarding pipeline expansion, planning to add approximately 2 million barrels of pipeline capacity per day. It is unclear whether Aramco's planned expansion involves upgrading existing infrastructure or building a new pipeline. One source said the expansion plan also includes a smaller refined oil pipeline. Two sources said the expansion could be between 1 million and 2 million barrels per day, with refined oil products also under consideration. Another source indicated that the project would take several years, cost billions of dollars, and require adjustments to Saudi Arabia's crude oil pricing mechanism. (Jinshi)

According to Foresight News , the Ministry of Communications Technology and Innovation (MoCTI) of Sierra Leone, the National Digital Identity Company of Bhutan (Bhutan NDI), and the SIGN Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on the design, development, and implementation of a national digital identity platform for Sierra Leone. This platform will utilize open-source technology and W3C-standard verifiable credentials, emphasizing privacy, security, and data sovereignty. It aims to help citizens securely manage and verify their identities and improve the efficiency of public services. MoCTI will be responsible for strategic leadership, policy development, and coordination with government agencies; Bhutan NDI will provide its mature national digital identity architecture experience and open-source identity framework; and the SIGN Foundation will be responsible for system design, solution architecture, and technical implementation.
