The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) has been approved to jointly establish the "Beijing Key Laboratory of Space-Based Intelligent Computing Systems".
According to Mars Finance, the "Beijing Key Laboratory of Space-Based Intelligent Computing Systems," jointly applied for by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), Leike Defense, Beijing Institute of Technology, and North China University of Technology, has been officially approved for construction by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Management Committee. As an important evolution direction for integrated space-ground computing power, space computing power aims to achieve real-time on-orbit data processing and intelligent applications by deploying high-performance AI computing systems in orbit. Currently, this field still faces core challenges such as the difficulty of distributed collaborative computing of on-orbit computing payloads, limited processing chip performance, insufficient high-reliability general-purpose computing capabilities, difficulties in high-power-density energy dissipation engineering, and difficulties in deploying intelligent algorithms in orbit.
