According to Foresight News , Franklin Templeton has announced the completion of its acquisition of crypto investment management firm 250 Digital. The transaction includes 250 Digital's investment team and all liquid crypto strategies previously operated by CoinFund, with Franklin Templeton injecting funds into these strategies. Following the completion of the transaction, Franklin Templeton has officially established its dedicated crypto asset management division, Franklin Crypto, headed by 250 Digital co-founder Christopher Perkins, with Seth Ginns serving as Chief Investment Officer, co-managing the division with Tony Pecore of Franklin Templeton's digital assets team, reporting to Sandy Kaul, Head of Innovation. Franklin Crypto will offer actively managed crypto strategies to institutional investors.
Cambrian raises $6 million in seed funding, led by Franklin Templeton and Polychain.
According to Mars Finance, blockchain data infrastructure startup Cambrian has completed a $6 million seed funding round, co-led by Franklin Templeton and Polychain Capital, with participation from Flow Traders, Selini Capital, Paper Ventures, and Nomad Capital. Previously, the company completed a $5.9 million Pre-Seed round last year led by a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator, bringing its total funding to $11.9 million. This round's structure is SAFE plus token warrants, with Franklin Templeton and Polychain securing board observer seats. Founded in 2024, Cambrian currently provides API services covering real-time and historical blockchain data such as yield, risk, lending rates, trading activity, liquidity positions, and market sentiment. It plans to expand into a verifiable oracle network for institutions and AI agents. The platform is currently live in production on Base and Solana, and the oracle network Alpha version is complete. Integration with blockchain and DeFi partners will begin in the coming months. The company currently has a team of 10 people and plans to recruit a blockchain infrastructure engineer and a sales manager.

According to Foresight News , USPXx, a tokenized version of the Franklin Templeton US Stock Index ETF (USPX) issued by xStocks, has been listed on the Mantle DEX Fluxion. Mantle stated that Fluxion is one of the first on-chain trading platforms to distribute the ETF, allowing users to trade without AMM slippage via Atomic RFQ.

The management firm, which manages $1.7 trillion in assets, did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction. The new division aims to provide actively managed cryptocurrency strategies for institutional investors. The new division combines the investment capabilities of the former 250 Digital team with Franklin Templeton's global distribution network. As part of the closing agreement, Franklin Templeton will also invest its own capital in these liquidity strategies. The new unit absorbs the entire 250 Digital investment team and all liquidity cryptocurrency strategies previously run under CoinFund. Crypto industry veterans Christopher Perkins and Seth Ginns will co-lead the new division.
