The software currently supports Claude and OpenAI Codex accounts and aims to simplify the setup process for non-technical users by storing wallet keys locally in encrypted form. Initially launched as a command-line tool in February, MoonAgents has now been upgraded to a graphical interface version, including pre-built skills, scheduled automation, and an artifact system that can generate custom dashboards to manage financial activities. A MoonPay representative stated that the biggest use case for MoonAgents is allowing AI models to run on the user's local computer, interacting with blockchain services using the user's private key, while ensuring that credentials are not exposed to the AI.

In the second quarter of 2026, Claude's global MAU reached 56 million, a year-on-year growth rate of 640%, far exceeding ChatGPT's 62% growth rate during the same period. Sensor Tower's tracking indicates that the direct competition between the two apps for existing user time is already evident in the data. For US users who installed Claude in the first quarter of 2026, ChatGPT's average usage time decreased by 5% just one month later.

ChatGPT will generate a MoonPay checkout link, requiring users to complete a standard KYC process and connect their wallets. A MoonPay blockchain engineer stated that ChatGPT is becoming an entry point for financial research, as crypto purchasing functionality was previously lacking. This app is part of MoonPay's expansion into AI-driven crypto tools; earlier this month, MoonPay also acquired AI trading startup Dawn Labs and launched the trading assistant Dawn CLI. Claude Code is an AI programming tool developed by Anthropic, an American company, which can autonomously complete code writing and repair tasks based on text requirements. Due to its built-in monitoring mechanism, it can send sensitive information such as user location and identity to remote servers without the user's consent. The affected Claude Code versions are 2.1.91 to 2.1.196. It is recommended that relevant units and users immediately conduct a comprehensive investigation. For development terminals that have installed the above-mentioned affected versions, they should immediately uninstall or upgrade to the latest secure version that has removed the relevant backdoor code. Strengthen the control of external access permissions and traffic monitoring of development tools within the core business network segment to prevent the unauthorized transmission of sensitive data.
