Alphabet's 2026 capital expenditure forecast was revised upwards from $187 billion to $195 billion, and its 2027 forecast from $257 billion to $290 billion. Meta's 2026 forecast was revised upwards from $130 billion to $145 billion, and its 2027 forecast from $157 billion to $185 billion. SemiAnalysis' latest report: Meta computing power procurement will accelerate, and capital expenditure may increase significantly next year.
According to Mars Finance, a recent report by semiconductor research firm SemiAnalysis emphasizes that computing power demand is far from peaking. According to data from SoSoValue, as of 8:00 AM Odaily on July 6, 2026, the total net purchase of Bitcoin by global listed companies (excluding mining companies) last week was $10.57 million, a decrease of 27.85% compared to the previous week. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) sold 1,363 bitcoins for approximately $80.8 million on June 30, at an average price of $59,256, reducing its holdings to 846,000 bitcoins; on July 5, it sold another 2,225 bitcoins for approximately $135 million, at an average price of $60,773, further reducing its holdings to 843,775 bitcoins. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission is discussing the removal of the 10% minimum investment exemption for virtual asset management.
According to Odaily Odaily, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Professionals Association stated that representatives from the regulatory body, including Ip Chi-hang, Executive Director of the Intermediaries Division of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, and Chan Ho-lim, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, met to discuss several specific policy changes, including: canceling the previous 10% minimum investment exemption for virtual asset management, and the new regulations taking effect immediately without a transition period. In addition, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) stated that it has communicated with the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI) to separate the examination and courses for virtual asset platform practitioners, and to reduce the examination fees to align with the current Paper 2 and Paper 3 examination fees.
