dYdX launched Arcus, a DEX based on Robinhood Chain; the price of the token quickly fell after the news broke.
BlockBeats reported on July 2nd that dYdX Labs announced the launch of Arcus, a decentralized exchange based on the Robinhood Chain. Arcus supports 24/7 trading of 95 equity tokens, staking perpetual contracts, and mainstream cryptocurrencies, with zero fees for spot trading of equity tokens. According to HTX market data, the price of DYDX quickly fell yesterday afternoon, and accelerated its decline after the announcement, currently trading at $0.145, a 24-hour drop of 23.11%. The previous day, influenced by the announcement of a "major announcement," DYDX surged over 40% in 24 hours. The Arcus launch has raised concerns in the community about whether the new product will affect the independence and governance structure of the existing dYdX Chain. The dYdX Foundation clarified that Arcus will not affect the operation of the dYdX Chain, which remains governed by DYDX token holders and secured by a validator network. The foundation stated that trading, deposits, withdrawals, staking, governance, and validator operations on the dYdX Chain remain normal; the DYDX token, as the governance and staking token of the dYdX Chain, has no changes in its mechanism, supply, or operation. The foundation also stated that any adjustments to the validator set and related requirements still require approval from the dYdX community governance.
