Russo has announced that he will accept cryptocurrency campaign donations, becoming the first candidate in the state's 2026 gubernatorial election to accept such donations. Stellantis, Wayve, and Uber announced on June 17 that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly explore the global development and deployment of Level 4 (L4) fully autonomous driverless taxis. Stellantis will be responsible for the design, engineering, and mass production of vehicles based on its L4-ready platform, which incorporates a sensor suite and meets the safety redundancy requirements for high-intensity driverless operation. Wayve will provide end-to-end AI driving software that can adapt to different regions and driving scenarios without requiring city-by-city high-precision maps. Uber will deploy driverless vehicles through its global mobility platform, connecting passengers with autonomous driving services.
