This role will evaluate areas such as tokenization, stablecoins, digital wallets, custody, and blockchain settlement, and determine whether Vanguard should build its own capabilities, partner with external entities, or postpone entry into certain markets. The position will involve developing multi-year roadmaps and designing governance and risk frameworks. Vanguard stated that this hiring does not indicate an upcoming launch of crypto products and that it currently has no plans to issue its own crypto investment vehicles.

According to data from Token Terminal, as reported by Mars Finance on July 6th, Invesco's tokenized USTB fund saw a roughly 300% increase in deposits into Aave during the second quarter compared to the previous quarter. USTB is managed by Invesco and issued using Superstate's FundOS transfer agent and tokenization infrastructure, demonstrating the deepening integration of real-world assets (RWA) with DeFi protocols.

PANews reported on July 3rd that, according to The Block, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev stated in an interview with CNBC that the key to growth in the crypto industry lies in the on-chaining of real-world assets, not meme tokens. Tenev stated, "If an asset isn't linked to underlying utility, it's not a productive asset," and believes that traditional finance and crypto are converging. He added, "Everything that runs on traditional tracks will eventually be on-chain and tokenized, like an unstoppable freight train." Robinhood launched its Stock Tokens service on Wednesday, allowing qualified users to trade tokenized stocks 24/7, and plans to offer exposure to private companies like OpenAI. Tenev stated that Bitcoin won't become irrelevant, but the next phase of growth in the industry will come from the tokenization of real-world assets.
Aave V3 is now available on Monad, with initial market support for 12 assets including USDT0.
According to Foresight News , Aave has deployed its V3 lending protocol on Monad, initially supporting 12 assets: USDT0, USDC, Aave stablecoins GHO, USDe, mUSD, AUSD, WETH, cbBTC, wstETH, weETH, syrupUSDC, and sUSDe. In this deployment, Aave is enabling Chainlink's Smart Value Recovery (SVR) mechanism from the outset, returning a portion of the MEV value generated during liquidation to the protocol. According to Aave governance documents, the Monad Foundation will invest $15 million as incentive funds in the first 12 months after the project's launch and has agreed to purchase 10 million GHO tokens and hold them for at least six months; Aave DAO has also committed to investing 500,000 GHO tokens as incentives to support applications on Monad.

This position will lead the evaluation and development of digital asset products and services for self-investment, investment advisory, and high-net-worth clients, including access models, pricing, custody/wallets, settlement and reporting processes, and coordinating cross-departmental implementation across technology, operations, legal, and compliance departments.
