Cardano's new consensus mechanism, the Ouroboros Leios public beta, will launch on June 23.
According to Foresight News , the Cardano ecosystem will launch a public testnet for its new consensus protocol upgrade, Ouroboros Leios, on June 23rd, codenamed "Musashi Dojo." Leios is based on the existing Ouroboros Praos mechanism, introducing endorser blocks and a committee verification mechanism to improve transaction parallel processing capabilities. Early simulations show a potential throughput increase of 10x to 65x. The public testnet aims to achieve approximately a 30x throughput increase, and full-load testing will be completed on the testnet before mainnet deployment. The public testnet is divided into five phases: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Void. Staking pool operators, developers, and community members can participate in testing and provide feedback. This protocol is a key component of the Cardano Vision 2030 roadmap. The community has previously approved a funding proposal to support the implementation in completing adversarial testing and phased deployment by the end of 2026, reaching mainnet readiness. Mainnet activation will begin with small upgrades and gradually scale up based on performance data and governance decisions.

Vitalik: More people should learn about Interfold, a privacy protocol optimized for scenarios such as voting.
According to Foresight News , Vitalik Buterin stated that more people should learn about Interfold. It's essentially what he's been advocating for nearly a decade using the ideas behind MAI, and now it exists in a general form. Its core concept is a privacy protocol optimized for scenarios like voting. This mechanism generates a threshold encryption key, and users submit votes on-chain, proving their voting eligibility using zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP). The voting result undergoes arbitrary computation within a fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) framework and is then decrypted using the threshold.
