Data: Ethereum's total on-chain yield fell to 2.68% in Q2, a 61% year-over-year decrease.
According to The DeFi Report's Q2 Ethereum ecosystem performance report, Ethereum's real economic value (REV) was $88.4 million, up 7% quarter-over-quarter but down 68% year-over-year. The report shows that the average real on-chain yield in Q2 was only 0.17%, down 14% quarter-over-quarter and 61% year-over-year; the total on-chain yield (including issuance) was 2.68%, with issuance accounting for 94%, while priority fees and MEV contributed only 0.17%. L1 GDP, DeFi activity, and L2 participation all continued to weaken significantly. The report points out that although user experience and throughput have improved, L1 fee capture capabilities remain weak, and future efforts will need to use practical applications such as RWA as a settlement layer to smooth out cyclical fluctuations.
