PANews reported on July 8th that, according to an official announcement, Binance plans to suspend token deposits and withdrawals on the Metal DAO (MTL) network at 23:00 (UTC+8) on July 8th, 2026, to support its network upgrade and hard fork. The network upgrade and hard fork are expected to take place at 00:00 (UTC+8) on July 9th, 2026.

According to ChainCatcher, Polygon founder Sandeep announced data on the X platform stating that since 2026, Polygon has minted approximately 105.2 million new POL tokens, while burning approximately 107.7 million POL tokens through the base fee mechanism. The burning amount exceeds the new issuance, officially marking the year's net deflation for the Polygon network. Sandeep added that the decrease in POL supply is mainly due to the burning of base fees resulting from Polygon's role as a payment chain handling high transaction volumes. In May, Polygon processed more transactions than other public chains, reaching 198 million transactions in a single month.
Binance will support the Injective (INJ) network upgrade and hard fork today.

The project team will conduct the network upgrade and hard fork at block height 172,502,000 (estimated at 22:00 (UTC+8) on July 2nd, 2026).

ChainCatcher reports that Ethereum Layer 2 project Taiko has announced that its fix has passed independent security expert review. The mainnet will be restored in four steps: deploying the fix and confirming the final chain state is correct, ensuring there are no forged checkpoints or acceptable attacker commits; replenishing cross-chain bridge liquidity to ensure all L2 assets maintain a 1:1 reserve; restoring network operation and reopening L2 transfers, exchanges, and transactions; and having the security committee propose lifting the cross-chain bridge suspension to fully restore asset inflow and outflow. Taiko stated that initially, conservative withdrawal limits will be set as an additional security measure, but this is not expected to affect normal user asset operations.
