Both BTC and gold have been under pressure recently, but Bitcoin has performed significantly worse—falling 20% in June to below $60,000, its worst monthly performance in four years, while gold fell 11.7% during the same period. Year-to-date, Bitcoin is down 28%, and gold is down 3.9%.

As of the end of 2025, 39 VARA-licensed institutions will be fully operational. Dubai now has more licensed VASPs than Hong Kong (13 licensed platforms) and Singapore (37 major payment institutions).
