According to Foresight News , African fintech company Flutterwave announced it has received investment from Circle Ventures, with the specific investment amount undisclosed. This investment aims to expand Flutterwave's USDC payment and settlement business in Africa. Flutterwave stated that stablecoins are becoming core financial infrastructure, and the company is committed to building faster and more flexible cross-border fund transfer methods to help businesses achieve cash flow. According to a previous report by Foresight News , Ripple acquired a stake in African fintech company Flutterwave in June of this year for a valuation of $3.3 billion.

PANews reported on July 2nd that the Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP), in its recent "Project Agila" report, pointed out that potential applications for wholesale central bank digital currencies (wCBDCs) include financial securities settlement and large-scale cross-border payments. wCBDCs involve commercial banks and financial institutions opening accounts at the central bank, using distributed ledger technology for real-time peer-to-peer settlement. This is expected to achieve higher automation, faster processing speeds, and lower transaction costs while maintaining a similar architecture to existing RTGS systems. The BSP noted that using wCBDCs for securities transaction settlement can help shorten the time lag between transaction and final settlement, reduce settlement risk, and will use the experience gained from this project to develop a roadmap for future CBDCs.

Bank of New York Mellon and Circle expand their partnership, adding USDC minting and redemption functionality.
PANews reported on June 30th that, according to The Block, Bank of New York Mellon (BNY) and Circle Internet Group have expanded their partnership, adding USDC minting and redemption capabilities to its digital asset custody platform. Institutional clients can now hold USDC in their BNY digital wallets and directly instruct the bank to complete two-way exchanges between USD and USDC. USDC becomes the first stablecoin supported on the platform, and BNY stated that it will gradually support more stablecoin issuers in the future, initially supporting USDC on the Ethereum and Solana chains. BNY was already the primary custodian of USDC reserves, and the new service establishes a seamless bridge between traditional fiat currency and digital assets.
