According to Foresight News , the modular blockchain Celestia V9 network upgrade has been launched on the mainnet. This upgrade halves the block time from 6 seconds to 3 seconds and introduces the x/fibre module (an advanced feature for Data Availability, DA), among other things.
The Zcash Ironwood upgrade will be deployed to the testnet tomorrow.
According to Foresight News , Zcash core developer Sean Bowe tweeted that the Ironwood upgrade will be deployed to the testnet tomorrow. He also stated that the Ironwood upgrade will be activated on the mainnet around July 21st. All consensus rule changes have been implemented and have undergone a period of auditing. The specification/ZIP has been released and is nearing its final state. According to a previous Foresight News report, Zcash core developer Sean Bowe tweeted that Ironwood will introduce a new shielded pool using the Orchard protocol. Simultaneously, the Orchard circuit will add a flag controllable by consensus rules, which can disable payments to other users within the pool (while retaining change) as a privacy protection mechanism. After the upgrade, old Orchard pools will enable this restriction and prohibit fund transfers to old pools by constraining valueBalance. New user payments must be made through the new pool, while migrating funds from the old pool to the new pool is encouraged. Furthermore, users can gradually prove that no fraudulent minting has occurred by migrating funds.
BNB Chain Releases 2026 Second Half Technology Roadmap: BSC Throughput Target to Double
Odaily Odaily reports that BNB Chain has released its technology roadmap for the second half of 2026, announcing that it will continue to optimize speed, throughput, and protocol stability, and plans to double the throughput of the BSC mainnet again, while developing a new generation of Layer 1 architecture for the next decade. BNB Chain stated that in the first half of 2026, BSC completed several performance upgrades, including reducing the block interval from 750 milliseconds to 450 milliseconds, decreasing the memory finality time from 1125 milliseconds to 650 milliseconds, and increasing the baseline throughput from approximately 2800 TPS to approximately 5200 TPS. At the middleware level, BNB Chain also advanced the construction of AI agents and payment infrastructure, including launching BNB Agent Studio and BNB Agent SDK to support the deployment of self-governed on-chain AI agents; it also continued to improve the Middleware Payment Protocol (MPP) SDK and explored institutional-grade privacy frameworks. For the second half of 2026, BNB Chain has proposed three core objectives: Double the throughput: Through BEP-675, BAL integration and EVM execution optimization, the BSC mainnet performance is further improved, with the long-term goal of achieving a 10x performance increase for the entire BNB Chain; Reduce the impact of network congestion: Improve stability during peak periods through resource isolation, dedicated transaction channels, and a transaction inclusion mechanism based on the FOCIL concept; Lowering the barrier to entry: Optimizing gas fee structures for different industries to reduce the cost for enterprises to enter Web2 and Web3 application scenarios.
The Sui mainnet has been upgraded to support zero-gas transaction simulation and has optimized network stability.
Odaily Odaily reports that Sui has announced mainnet upgrade to version V1.74.1, with the protocol simultaneously upgraded to version 128. Key upgrades include: support for zero-gas stablecoin transfer simulations, facilitating application testing for developers; the mainnet officially adopting a timestamp-based Epoch ending mechanism, further optimizing network efficiency; the addition of Move code static analysis functionality to help developers improve code quality; and optimizations to the validator node connection mechanism and node restart stability, reducing abnormal crashes. Furthermore, this upgrade improves range proof verification, cryptographic performance, and Binary Pools-related protocol mechanisms, providing support for future feature expansions.
