According to Mars Finance, on July 7th, Jan Frederik Slijkerman of ING wrote in a report that Nvidia's ability to maintain profit margins is uncertain as tech giants develop their own chips. He pointed out that major customers such as Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon are developing their own custom chips to help control AI infrastructure costs (capital expenditure efficiency). He stated that, therefore, Nvidia's pricing power may face more intense competition than in recent years, making it more difficult for it to maintain its currently extremely high profit margins in the long term, despite the company's expansion into new business lines.

The core driver of this transformation is interaction speed and customization capabilities, not cost savings. In customer service scenarios, a single conversation that takes 8 seconds to finish will completely destroy the product experience. Since leading closed-source labs do not allow fine-tuning of flagship models, and small closed-source models cannot be deeply customized, small-sized open-source models, through fine-tuning for specific tasks, have become the only option to support high-frequency real-time interactions. The future of enterprise AI will see a division of labor: leading closed-source labs will continue to dominate the exploration and discovery of new fields, while open-source weighted models will increasingly take over the actual production of mature businesses. Because model fine-tuning requires extremely high levels of data and talent, the migration from closed-source to open-source will be a slow process lasting several years, during which both will experience sustained growth.

The agreement, coordinated by the UNDP AltFinLab in its Istanbul regional center, focuses on shifting the emphasis from testing the technology in specific environments to establishing the institutional conditions for its large-scale application. The Stellar Development Foundation provides technical advisory support and coordination, including expertise on networks and their protocols, as well as collaboration with solution providers operating within the scope of UNDP projects, while UNDP retains responsibility for delivery and implementation.
