Mediators are making final efforts to reach a 45-day ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran.

Mars Finance reported on April 6th, citing Axios, that four sources familiar with the negotiations from the US, Israel, and the region revealed that the US, Iran, and a group of regional mediators are discussing the terms of a potential 45-day ceasefire agreement, which could ultimately lead to a permanent end to the war. The sources stated that the likelihood of reaching a partial agreement within the next 48 hours is slim. However, this last-ditch effort is the only chance to prevent a sharp escalation of the war—an escalation that would include large-scale attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure and retaliatory attacks on energy and water facilities in the Gulf states.
