Gemini 3.5 officially released: Google bets on the era of "action-oriented" AI agents.

According to BlockBeats, on May 20th, Google DeepMind officially released its next-generation model series, Gemini 3.5, with Gemini 3.5 Flash being the first to be launched. The company states that this model combines "cutting-edge intelligence" with "action capabilities," focusing on AI agents and programming scenarios, and can handle complex, long-cycle tasks. Gemini 3.5 Flash is available to users worldwide through the Gemini App, Google Search AI Mode, Google AI Studio, Android Studio, and the enterprise platform Gemini Enterprise. Google also revealed that Gemini 3.5 Pro has been internally deployed and is expected to be officially launched next month. According to data released by Google, Gemini 3.5 Flash outperforms Gemini 3.1 Pro in agent and programming benchmark tests such as Terminal-Bench 2.1, GDPval-AA, and MCP Atlas, and achieves 84.2% in the CharXiv Reasoning multimodal understanding test. Google states that its output speed is 4 times faster than other cutting-edge models. Google emphasizes that the core capability of Gemini 3.5 Flash lies in "long-cycle agent tasks," including automated planning, multi-step execution, tool invocation, and deployment of multiple collaborative sub-agents. The official statement claims that development, auditing, or financial processes that previously took days or even weeks can now be completed in less time, typically at less than half the cost of other cutting-edge models. In terms of commercial deployment, companies such as Shopify, Salesforce, Macquarie Bank, Ramp, Databricks, and Xero have begun testing or deploying Gemini 3.5 Flash. Google also announced Gemini Spark, a new personal AI agent built on Gemini 3.5 Flash. The official statement says that this product can assist users with digital transactions around the clock and proactively perform tasks with user authorization. Gemini Spark is currently available to a select group of beta users, with a beta version planned for release next week for US Google AI Ultra subscribers. Furthermore, Gemini 3.5 Flash is now the default model for the Gemini App and Google Search AI Mode, and supports the generation of more dynamic and interactive web UI interfaces.
