Arkham: It's questionable whether the Zcash chain is down, or if it's just a delay issue with the blockchain explorer after the upgrade.

According to BlockBeats, on June 4th, monitoring by crypto data platform Arkham Intelligence revealed that multiple block explorers for the privacy coin Zcash had not displayed any new block confirmations in the past few hours, sparking community discussions about whether the network had shut down. Arkham stated that after filtering Zcash on-chain transaction records, no new on-chain transfers were observed for over 5 hours, leading some users to believe that the Zcash network may have stopped producing blocks. However, there is currently no evidence that the mainnet has completely stopped operating. Some community members suggest that the problem may lie in a malfunction of the data nodes relied upon by the block explorer, rather than an outage of the Zcash consensus network itself. Meanwhile, some Zcash mining pool monitoring pages still show that new blocks are being continuously generated. Another speculation relates to the recent network upgrade. On May 29th, the development team discovered a vulnerability in Orchard Shielded Pool (Orchard privacy pool) and completed the fix and network upgrade on June 1st. Some developers believe that the block explorer may be experiencing synchronization delays after the upgrade and is currently still catching up with the latest block data. As of press time, Zcash has not officially confirmed a network outage, and the cause of the problem is still under investigation. If it is later confirmed that the issue is only due to a block explorer or node synchronization failure, it will not affect on-chain consensus or fund security. However, if it is confirmed to be an anomaly in mainnet block production, it may affect transaction confirmation and network stability.
