According to Beating's monitoring, photos of Liang Wenfeng, founder of Magic Square Quant and DeepSeek, who was the top scorer in the 2002 National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao), along with related newspaper reports, have surfaced on social media. The reports indicate that Liang Wenfeng achieved a score of 806, becoming the top scorer in Zhanjiang City's Gaokao. Despite reaching the admission line for Tsinghua University, he chose Zhejiang University's Electronic Information Engineering program as his first choice. Liang Wenfeng was born into a family of teachers and attended Wuchuan No. 1 High School. According to a newspaper article titled "Top Gaokao Scorer," Liang Wenfeng excelled in science subjects during high school. With the intensive guidance of his physics and chemistry teachers, his grades jumped from the top 100 in his grade in his first year to the top 10, and remained in the top 3 throughout his senior year. He began learning computers in junior high school and frequently volunteered to repair computer equipment at the school. While his Gaokao score met the admission requirements for Tsinghua University, he ultimately chose Zhejiang University's Electronic Information Engineering program as his first choice.
