Medical AI startup Prosper AI has raised $30 million in Series A funding, led by a16z.

According to Mars Finance, on June 22, medical AI startup Prosper AI announced the completion of a $30 million Series A funding round, led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Base10 Partners, Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, and others. Following this round, the company has raised approximately $36.6 million in total funding. Prosper AI focuses on providing AI voice agents to cover the entire patient care process, including appointment scheduling, health insurance verification, communication with insurance companies, and billing. It currently serves over 150,000 healthcare institutions. The company stated that the US healthcare system incurs over $450 billion in waste annually due to administrative processes, and its AI system can handle critical processes from appointment to payment within a single platform, reducing the costs for healthcare institutions switching between different systems. Prosper AI's revenue has grown approximately fivefold since its last funding round last September, and it has already partnered with major healthcare IT platforms such as Athenahealth and ImagineSoftware. Investor a16z stated that healthcare organizations are shifting from "single-point automation tools" to "end-to-end process automation," and Prosper's goal is to eliminate all administrative friction between patient care and payment.
