Micro-strategies remain unchanged; net buying of Bitcoin by listed companies plummets by 83% in a single week.
According to data from SoSoValue, as of 8:00 AM Odaily on June 29, 2026, the total net purchase of Bitcoin by global listed companies (excluding mining companies) last week was $14.65 million, a decrease of 83% compared to the previous week.
Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) did not purchase Bitcoin last week. Simultaneously, Strategy announced two securities repurchase programs, each up to $1 billion, targeting Class A common stock and digital credit preferred stock (led by STRC) with an annual dividend yield of 8% to 10%, aiming to optimize its capital structure without depleting existing dollar reserves. To fund these repurchases and support daily capital expenditures, the board also approved a Bitcoin monetization program, allowing the company to generate up to $1.25 billion in additional proceeds from the sale of Bitcoin to bolster dollar reserves. This proceeds can be used to pay maturing preferred stock dividends and interest expenses (or replenish dollar reserves after such payments) if management deems it more advantageous than issuing Class A common stock or other capital market transactions, and to directly provide additional funding for the two repurchase programs (including related taxes and transaction fees). While MicroStrategy's move has released the authorization for monetization, it currently serves only as a reserve shield for repurchases and is actually "building momentum without selling." Its core logic has shifted from the initial "aggressive expansion of the balance sheet" to a more refined operational stage of "using crypto assets to optimize equity capital structure and reduce the capital costs generated by high-dividend stocks."
Metaplanet, a Japanese listed company, did not purchase any Bitcoin last week, marking its 10th consecutive week without doing so.
In addition, two other companies purchased Bitcoin last week. CIMG, a Hong Kong-based global digital health, consumer goods sales, and AI computing technology group, announced the completion of the first tranche of a large stock and warrant issuance, receiving US$13.5 million (207.7 Bitcoins at an average price of US$65,000) in Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 937.7 Bitcoins. Brazilian Bitcoin company OrangeBTC announced on June 29th an investment of US$4.9 million to purchase 74 Bitcoins at a price of US$66,233, bringing its total holdings to 3,896 Bitcoins.
As of press time, the total number of Bitcoins held by listed companies worldwide (excluding mining companies) is 1,142,484, an increase of 0.02% compared to last week, with a current market value of approximately US$68.52 billion, accounting for 5.7% of Bitcoin's circulating market capitalization.
