Passive component leader Yageo raised prices across its capacitor product line, and on the same day, a NT$38.8 million default settlement case was announced.

According to a report by Taiwan's Economic Daily News, Yageo, a leading passive component manufacturer, has notified its customers of a comprehensive price increase across its entire capacitor solution product line, effective July 1st. This includes MLCCs, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, tantalum capacitors, and polymer aluminum capacitors, marking the largest price hike in recent years. Industry insiders point out that this move primarily reflects the continued rise in global manufacturing costs due to geopolitical factors, energy, raw materials, and international freight rates. Since capacitors account for approximately half of Yageo's revenue, the market expects this price increase to significantly boost its revenue and profits. Driven by strong demand for AI servers and automotive electronics, Yageo's stock price hit its daily limit of NT$1140 yesterday. However, due to recent sharp fluctuations in the Taiwan stock market, a major default settlement involving Yageo shares was reported last night, with a total declared amount of NT$38.8 million. This is the 15th major default settlement case in the Taiwan listed and over-the-counter market this year.
