Telegram responds to India's ban: One-week ban inadvertently affected 150 million users.
PANews reported on June 16 that Telegram founder Pavel Durov posted on his channel that the Indian Ministry of Information Technology has imposed a one-week ban on Telegram due to some users distributing leaked exam questions. Telegram believes this move affected approximately 150 million ordinary users in India but failed to truly punish those who leaked the questions or those with inside information. Telegram stated that the ban did not solve the problem; the content simply moved to other application platforms. The company emphasized that although the source of the leak was not Telegram, it has actively cooperated with the cleanup efforts over the past few weeks, removing hundreds of channels that distributed leaked exam questions and related scams. Furthermore, Telegram stated that it has recently increased the visibility of "edited" tags to prevent retroactive fraud scams involving altering posting times.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a risk warning regarding the potential security backdoors in the AI programming tool Claude Code.
According to Odaily Odaily, the Cybersecurity Threat and Vulnerability Information Sharing Platform (NVDB) of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently discovered that the AI programming tool Claude Code has a security backdoor vulnerability, which poses a serious threat. Claude Code is an AI programming tool developed by Anthropic, an American company, which can autonomously complete code writing and repair tasks based on text requirements. Due to its built-in monitoring mechanism, it can send sensitive information such as user location and identity to remote servers without the user's consent. The affected Claude Code versions are 2.1.91 to 2.1.196. It is recommended that relevant units and users immediately conduct a comprehensive investigation. For development terminals that have installed the above-mentioned affected versions, they should immediately uninstall or upgrade to the latest secure version that has removed the relevant backdoor code. Strengthen the control of external access permissions and traffic monitoring of development tools within the core business network segment to prevent the unauthorized transmission of sensitive data.
Uniswap has proposed extending the UNIFication burn program to v4 liquidity pools.
PANews reported on July 8th that, according to Cryptopolitan, Uniswap Labs has proposed extending the UNIfication burn program to Uniswap v4 liquidity pools, requesting UNI holders' approval to charge protocol fees on some v4 pools and use a portion of the revenue to buy back and burn UNI tokens. A snapshot vote will be held from July 7th to 12th, lasting five days. The UNIfication program currently runs on 11 chains, increasing token value by distributing protocol revenue to stakers and burning tokens. If the v4 extension proposal passes, it will further strengthen the deflationary mechanism of the UNI token and may attract more liquidity to the v4 version. The community response has been generally positive, but some smaller liquidity providers are concerned that increased protocol fees may affect their yields.

A representative from the Investigation and Security Department (A09) of the Ministry of Public Security stated that in the investigation of the ONUS cryptocurrency exchange's alleged embezzlement, police have seized over 350 kilograms of gold and silver, frozen transactions involving eight properties worth 200 billion Vietnamese dong, and suspended over 300 bank accounts used by the defendants to trade with investors. On March 23rd of this year, police filed criminal charges against eight defendants, accusing them of using computer and telecommunications networks to commit embezzlement and money laundering. Since 2018, the perpetrators have exploited the public's lack of understanding of cryptocurrencies, creating digital accounts through applications and packaging them as virtual currencies. They built trust and attracted investment through cyclical buying and selling between affiliated companies, ultimately embezzling funds. Between 2018 and 2021, they sold over 7 trillion Vietnamese dong worth of cryptocurrency. A representative from A09 stated that the case involves numerous individuals and users, with approximately 5 million user accounts currently in operation. Police have received over 2,000 reports from citizens, and the recovery of assets is ongoing. They are also investigating whether social media influencers colluded with the defendants in promoting the cryptocurrency.
