According to Mars Finance, 11 departments, including the Guangdong Provincial Government Service and Data Management Bureau, recently issued the "Guangdong Provincial Action Plan for Promoting the Digital Transformation of Cities and Building Smart Cities," which mentions optimizing the layout of urban computing networks. Addressing the development needs of megacities and urban clusters, the plan calls for a comprehensive planning of urban computing center systems, constructing a cloud-edge-device collaborative computing network. It also emphasizes accelerating the construction of an all-optical network foundation for cities, creating a high-quality computing capacity network capable of "millisecond-level computation," achieving millisecond interconnection of computing centers, millisecond-level access to computing services, and millisecond-level response to computing applications. The plan supports Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan in taking the lead in building high-value-added intelligent computing centers, flexibly deploying edge computing nodes to meet the high-bandwidth, low-latency, and high-reliability computing power requirements of scenarios such as low-altitude economy, autonomous driving, and the industrial internet. According to Mars Finance, Apollo Asset Management's latest report points out that the AI industry is shifting from a "model race" to a "computing power competition." With the expansion of inference models and intelligent agent applications, the computational demands for a single task have increased significantly: intelligent agents repeatedly plan, retrieve, call tools, and verify results, with token consumption reaching 100 to 1000 times that of traditional chatbot requests. The report argues that this shortage is not due to limitations in a single area, but rather to simultaneous pressure on GPUs, advanced manufacturing processes, storage, electricity, and grid access. CICC: Core third-generation compound semiconductor devices are expected to continue to benefit from upgrades in data center power-related systems.
According to Mars Finance, CICC points out that with AI computing power moving towards high density, continuous full load, and strong transient impact, high-voltage architecture is the definite direction for the development of data center power supply systems. Driven by advancements in hardware technology, 2026 will be the first year of implementation for high-voltage architecture in data centers. CICC believes that core third-generation compound semiconductor devices such as SiC/GaN are expected to continue to benefit from the upgrade of data center power-related systems. HTX DeepThink: Meta's sale of AI computing power raises concerns, marking a new phase in the generational differentiation of computing power assets.
Chloe (@ChloeTalk1), a columnist for HTX DeepThink and a researcher at HTX Research, points out that Meta's recent sale of some AI computing power has sparked concerns about an oversupply of computing power, putting pressure on GPU cloud service providers and the semiconductor sector. However, from the perspective of the actual situation in the industry chain, this change cannot be simply interpreted as the peak of AI computing power demand. It is more likely that computing power assets are beginning to show generational differentiation: the previous generation of GPUs and non-core computing resources are gradually shifting to commercial leasing, while new-generation high-performance clusters such as Blackwell and Rubin remain relatively scarce.
