Category Labs launches Cadence, a new consensus protocol designed to alleviate the MEV problem at the protocol level.
Foresight News reports that Category Labs (formerly Monad Labs) has announced the launch of Cadence, a new consensus protocol that employs a Multiple Concurrent Proposer (MCP) mechanism. This mechanism supports multiple block proposers participating concurrently in consensus, achieving extremely short block intervals without sacrificing latency. Test data shows that, based on a simulated network of 200 global nodes, the average final confirmation time is 219 milliseconds, and the average speculative confirmation time is 167 milliseconds. The team stated that, combined with the cryptographic memory pool design BTX, Cadence represents a significant step towards solving the MEV problem at the protocol layer.
The United Nations Development Programme and the Stellar Development Foundation plan to expand their collaboration to promote mature digital payment solutions.
According to Foresight News , the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Stellar Development Foundation have signed a new agreement to take their collaboration in blockchain-based digital payments to the next level, moving from a series of mature pilot projects to a permanent capability that UNDP country offices can use as a regular means of project implementation. The agreement, coordinated by the UNDP AltFinLab in its Istanbul regional center, focuses on shifting the emphasis from testing the technology in specific environments to establishing the institutional conditions for its large-scale application. The Stellar Development Foundation provides technical advisory support and coordination, including expertise on networks and their protocols, as well as collaboration with solution providers operating within the scope of UNDP projects, while UNDP retains responsibility for delivery and implementation.
The SIGN Foundation is collaborating with Sierra Leone Communications and Bhutan NDI to advance the development of a national digital identity system.

Bio Protocol launches OpenLabs, a crowdfunding platform focused on research crowdfunding for collaboration between humans and AI agents.
According to Foresight News , the decentralized scientific research (DeSci) platform Bio Protocol has launched OpenLabs, positioned as a coordination layer connecting scientific ideas with funding execution, allowing humans and AI agents to jointly advance research projects. The core process involves posting ideas, which are then discussed and voted on by the community to become formal projects. Projects include collaborative spaces, bounty tasks, and funding channels; mature projects can be listed on the Bio Protocol launchpad for fundraising. The platform comprises five modules: post discovery, project collaboration, agent participation, USDC yield staking (2%-4% annualized return, principal unaffected, yield only used to cover computing power costs), and a bounty system. It is currently online, with the first batch of projects showcased on the platform. Voting, private data rooms, and the launchpad will be added gradually.
